The path to taxidermy



Creating a Voodoo Mouse original is a unique experience and each piece is created depending on what raw materials are available at the time. 

All the animals used in these pieces are natural casualties of nature and are not killed deliberately for the making of these pieces. 

I have two cats, one of whom just can't resist a mouse chase (she's less successful with birds) and people gift me their dead finds!

So that's how I started my journey into the world of taxidermy, I started off doing a short course on mouse stuffing and taught myself from there, creating large pieces of artwork at first, but then began experimenting with small scenes with a more commercial feel to them. It got to the point where I had so many animals in my freezer and so many artworks on shelves, I was running out of storage room!

 I put them on my Esty shop window and people like them enough to purchase something really individual and unique!
